Tom McShane
Tom McShane has spent his career going where most filmmakers won’t. Embedded with military units in Iraq, leading the epic 4,000-mile Walking the Nile expedition, and documenting some of the planet’s most remote and unforgiving environments, he has built a body of work defined by one uncompromising standard: get it right, no matter what it takes.

A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and acclaimed International Travel Photographer of the Year, Tom’s imagery has graced the covers of bestselling books and international publications worldwide. Through Adventure In Focus, his all-in-one production house, he merges high-end cinematic craft with the operational grit demanded by extreme locations — delivering work that is visually extraordinary precisely because it is physically earned.
His directorial portfolio spans the full spectrum of ambition — from the viral, Guinness World Record-breaking Ice-Cold Gigs campaign for Jägermeister to feature documentary filmmaking. Off camera, Tom serves as Deputy Head of High Risk for North Star Safety Group, overseeing safety for major events including the UCI Mountain Bike World Series, a role that speaks to the rare combination of creative vision and operational authority he brings to every project.
When Life Gives You Lemons… Everyone’s Everest is the culmination of that career — a film that could only have been made by someone who has already stood at the edge, looked out, and chosen to keep going.
